Youssef, Kathleen, and Lauritz will be speaking at the FONDA workshop on Reducing the Carbon Emissions of Large-Scale Computational Data Analysis, which will take place on 25 and 26 November at Humboldt University of Berlin.

Kathleen will present results from the research she has been driving on carbon-aware scientific workflow execution, highlighting the significant potential as well as important challenges, aligned also with the research she presented at CCGrid 2025 earlier this year.

Lauritz and Youssef will mainly talk about our recent work on estimating the energy consumption and carbon emissions of distributed batch processing systems for compute clusters (like Nextflow and Spark), aligned also with the work we previously presented at LOCO 2024 yet continued since then.
